Well, you pretty much know a CG animated movie these days is going to look flawless on Blu Ray, but the surreal and trippy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs exceeds even those expectations. The Columbia logo has more color than ever, and the full widescreen image is packed with all the textures, colors and shine.

You’ve got basics like walls, pillows, fences and rusty, dingy labs. You see all the hair on character’s knuckles. There’s a lot of purple color in the lab, smoke and clouds. Those fantastical shades shine bright against normal colors of grass, water and sky. Snow and ice cream sparkles.
You really see the difference when the town changes from a sardine slum to a happy pastel. Then all the foods give you weird textures and colors that just pop out. The yellow tint of Jello, the texture of bread and rainbow lens flares all adds Blu Ray glory to the colorful cartoon.
