Films have got to be getting more expensive to make. With a trend of actors requesting producing credits nowadays, that just means more money to the individual on the front (and back) end. Riding on the bandwagon, Natalie Portman has landed some producing gigs before, and sometimes she like to get in front of the camera also.
Natalie Portman for Best Buds
Natalie Portman will produce in star in the road-trip comedy Best Buds through her Handsomecharlie banner. Written by Jamie Denbo, the film centers on a woman who's on the verge of a complete nervous breakdown on the eve of her wedding. To save herself, she goes on a road trip to San Diego with two best friends, relying on a combo of marijuana and the bonds of their decades-long friendship.
Portman is currently working with Vendome Pictures -- who is financing the film -- on finding a director. For those anxious to see her back in front of the camera, you can next catch her in the fantasy-comedy Your Highness.
